Memory: The Sun Fire V240 server supports four memory slots pre processor and up to 16-GB of memory. This system configuration ships with 512-MB Memory (2x256MB DIMMS) pre-installed and two slots occupied, leaving two slots available for expansion. This configuration can support a maximum of 4.5-GB of memory. Memory must be installed in pairs of same size DIMMs but mixing of DIMM sizes between pairs is supported, however, performance will be reduced slightly.
